Tantalizing Muffins and Pizza

We found a woman vendor today sitting on the side of the road, yelling to us about her tantalizing muffins and pizza, in a small shoe-sized rubber box. .... we declined, but now we're intrigued enough to go back tomorrow.

Oh, and if we ever see these 100lb backpacks again in our lifetime, it will be too soon. I'm sorry Jolon and Jonathan (our trusty bag donors), but we may burn the bags (after ripping them to shreds) before we get a chance to return them.

But seriously.... every muscle in my body hates those bags too.

Today we rushed to our last-minute appointment with Ms Awortwi (the former Minister of Science and Education for Ghana). We arrived at a school in Osu (which we were told is the "white person's haven of Accra") where we waited for a good hour and a half for her to speak with us. We video taped her interview with her husband (also a federal director of education) for about 40 minutes. They were so kind and gave us a great background for Education policy in Ghana.

Drove to the University of Ghana in Legon to stay for the next couple of days. Then [of course] waited another two hours for a room, while our friends at the front desk fought about who believed in the power of Jesus more, and watched Spanish Soap Operas, translated through British Cockney, of course. Ha.

We took a trotro (van packed full of people) to the bus station, to meet Becca and the other girls from ABAN at the film festival, but plans were foiled. Some doormen was turned off by the 12 girls and their babies, so all of them were not allowed to enter. But, we'll try again tomorrow... maybe Kaleigh and I will be holding a few babies in each arm.

Going to some place called "Timeout" tonight to check out the dancing.

Early morning tomorrow to observe the business training at ABAN, then market in the afternoon for some jewelry shopping. =)
